This week's facilitator should create a new thread in the team forum titled, Week 5: Curriculum Alignment.
In your team forum, discuss by Friday your experiences with the alignment process including the:
Reactions to the alignment process.
Comparison of areas where the curriculum clearly aligns and where it does not.
How the alignment helps instruction and assessment
How the lack of alignment might hinder instruction and assessment. Are there issues that impact the delivery of instruction to support all students, including those with special needs?
Revisit the discussion and post a follow-up response to the following questions:
How would you communicate to teachers the relationship between the alignment of curriculum standards with proven effective instructional strategies and teachers’ daily classroom instruction?
As a principal, how will you ensure the curriculum is implemented and assessed, and that students are learning the prescribed content?
Be sure to actively engage in a discussion with your teammates. The concepts discussed will assist you with Assignment 7.
